Make plans, and God laughs

It’s been a while since my last post. I am that sorry for not keeping you all up to date. I’ve been struggling with a few things, not the least of which is definitely a change of my spring hiking plans.

I DID take a trip to the AT last month, and found it to be as wonderful as I’ve heard! It was beautifully loaded with lots of color and views!

I did, also get to meet some thruhikers who were coming through the trail headed South. So exciting for me! However, I chose a partner, who wasn’t as ready for a 4 day hike as she had originally thought. We ended up cutting our trip short. But not before a few pictures to help me think about my future and the trail!

I’ll be back!!

Well, as fate would have it, or as my title displays, upon my return from the trail, I got the news that my husband had lost his job. Unfortunately, my “sugar daddy” you might call him, won’t be able to help me fund this 6 month endeavor just yet. We’ll survive, and work on learning the lesson God is trying to teach us. I’m not giving up on the trail, but I know that what’s best for my family, is for me to continue working, and encourage my husband to find his new path.

The path of life does have it’s challenges, doesn’t it? I’m so thankful that I can remember I am not in charge, but I can follow the One who is! And He has placed this trail on my heart, so I won’t forget it! Meanwhile, I’ll continue to prepare, and condition myself, and maybe get to take some smaller trails as we await his plans and his timing!
